Slotted PVC casing pipes are generally used for shallow groundwater wells (≤ 50 meters), but considerations are required for high-temperature, high-pressure, or deep underground environments. They are best used for groundwater extraction, underground drainage systems, agricultural irrigation, sewage treatment, and environmental monitoring.
The purposes of a slotted casing pipe are twofold:
Sand Control: Prevents formation sand from entering the wellbore, avoiding blockages and reducing equipment wear.
Wellbore Support: Stabilizes the well walls to prevent collapse and maintain an open, unobstructed passage for fluid flow.
A slotted casing pipe’s inner diameter should be at least 10% larger than your liner pipe diameter to facilitate installation and maintenance. And there should be at least a 2’’ gap between them.
