Operation Principle of Rotary Drum Thickener

Simply put, as the drum  rotates, the fluid passes through the perforations in the drum and fails into the water collection trough and the screen parts, with dewatered during this process.

Solids are retained and become thickened in the drum, when they move to the elevated end of the drum by the internal screw auger, they are dewatered. Then the thickened solids are discharge.
